The 17 artists represented in this exhibition give an accurate indication of the current trends in England and the considerable variety of approaches and styles that had emerged in the previous six years. There were 17 individual approaches to the function and process of painting and sculpture, including construction, assemblage, abstraction, new figuration, op art, pop art, object making, coloured sculpture and typographical painting.
Artists represented included Bridget Riley, Peter Sedgley, Gillian Ayres, Richard Smith, Joe Tilson, Sandra Blow, Harold Cohen and William Turnbull.
