The Friends summer trip to Dunedin will be a reaffirmation of the importance of public galleries as we await our own Gallery reopening.
The trip will include a visit to the Dunedin Public Art Gallery, hosted by our peers from the Dunedin Public Art Gallery Society. This will include guided tours of Hotere Culbert, two touring exhibitions and a special exhibition of Frances Hodgkins’s works that examine the play of light and water.
On the Friday a tour of Place Makers: Artists and Iconic Landscapes at the Hocken will include works by several noted New Zealand artists: Nicholas Chevalier, Russell Clark, Doris Lusk, Leo Bensemann, Ian Scott, Robin White and Shane Cotton.
