Richard Dunn is a multi-disciplinary artist who has worked with painting, photography and multimedia installations. He initially studied architecture in the early 1960s before becoming an artist, and architecture and the urban landscape have remained elements in his work – as can be seen in this body of prints. Dunn depicts a couple gazing adoringly into each other’s eyes, seemingly oblivious to the oppressive urban environment that closes in around them. This sense of entrapment is further enhanced by the faint screenprints of buildings superimposed on each image.
