We couldn't think of a more deserving band for this award and it's great to see that their music has been re-issued on vinyl. Toy Love's songs were backed up with equally brilliant record covers and posters that were designed by band members Alec Bathgate and Chris Knox. Alec has numerous fans here at the Gallery not only for his guitar tunes but also his terrific ability and skill as a graphic designer. One of my favourite records involving Alec is the brilliant Canned Music by Tall Dwarfs, a dynamic duo consisting of Chris and Alec formed after Toy Love folded, which features a gem of a cover designed by Chris Knox and the brilliantly subtle song penned by Alec...Shade For Today, listen to it if you can get hold of a copy. More recently Alec was responsible for redesigning the Gallery's Bulletin back in 2008.
