Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū and Singapore Airlines Promotion 2018 Singapore Airlines Competition ‘Making the Ordinary Extraordinary’ Terms and Conditions
The Singapore Airlines Making the Ordinary Extraordinary 2018 (“Promotion”) and prize (“Prize”) form part of these terms and conditions. By entering the Competition, participants (“Participants”) agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. The decision of Singapore Airlines (“the Promoter”), who has a registered address at Level 2, International Arrivals Terminal, Christchurch International Airport, Christchurch, New Zealand, is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
1. PROMOTION SUMMARY
1.1 The Promotion allows the entrant to win a trip for four people from Christchurch to Singapore flying Singapore Airlines Economy Class, including four nights’ accommodation in Singapore and attraction passes.
1.2 Information on how to enter and the prize(s) form part of these terms and conditions. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
2. HOW TO ENTER
2.1 The Promotion Period begins on Friday 23 November 2018 and entries close 11.59pm on Thursday 28 February 2019.
2.2 Participants must visit Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū during the promotion and enter using the “selfie booth” during the promotion period located in Christchurch Art Gallery foyer.
2.3 Participants may enter only once per person. To be eligible for the prize each participant must take a selfie photo following the instructions in the “selfie booth” and enter a valid email address. All email addresses entered will be collected and utilised by Christchurch Art Gallery and Singapore Airlines in accordance with these terms and conditions. Participants can unsubscribe at any time.
2.4 Employees and their immediate families of Christchurch Art Gallery and Singapore Airlines and, associated sponsor(s) and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
2.5 Prizewinner must be at least 18 years of age or be accompanied by a legal guardian in order to be eligible for the prize. Participants must be a resident of New Zealand, hold a passport with minimum six months’ validity and not have any prior criminal convictions.
3. THE PRIZE
3.1. The Winner will be randomly drawn by Christchurch Art Gallery from all eligible entries received during the promotion period. The Judge’s determination of the Winner will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
3.2. The Winner will be advised and confirmed by email on Monday 04 March 2018. The Winner must reply to the email within 5 working days or another Winner may be selected in the Judge’s sole discretion.
3.3. The Prize consists of:
(a) Four (4) Economy Class return flights on Singapore Airlines from Christchurch to Singapore;
(b) Four (4) nights’ accommodation at a three-star (or above) hotel in Singapore in two twin share rooms; and
(c) General admission for four people to: Art Science Museum and National Gallery Singapore.
3.4. The Winner and the Winner’s chosen travelling companions (‘Companions’) are responsible for and must cover the cost of:
(a) airport taxes and New Zealand government charges;
(b) visas, passports and any other travel documentation required;
(c) transport and associated costs from their residence to Christchurch International Airport for flight departure and from Christchurch International Airport to their residence upon returning to New Zealand;
(d) all other expenses related to the Prize, including without limitation taxes, full travel insurance, transfers, spending money, food and beverage and any other incidental costs; and
(e) Any changes to travel dates or additional accommodation outside the travel period specified in the Prize details.
3.5. Travel for the Prize must depart and return during the following period: 04 March 2019 - 31 March 2020 (“travel period”). 31 March 2020 is the last travel date.
3.6 The Winner and each Companion must travel together at all times within the travel period. The dates for travel are subject to availability of both the flights and accommodation. The Winner may not get preferred dates particularly around peak school holiday travel times and other public holiday periods. Singapore Airlines reserves its right to impose particular flight embargoes during periods of heavy demand as is required commercially from time to time.
4. SPECIFIC RULES
4.1. The Winner and Companions must hold full international travel insurance for the duration of the trip prior to departure from New Zealand.
4.2. If the Winner or Companion has a criminal record and is denied entry into Singapore or encounters any visa issues on route, Singapore Airlines, Fairfax or Christchurch Art Gallery cannot be held responsible or liable in any way.
4.3. The Winner must contact Singapore Airlines to redeem the Prize 1 month in advance of requested 2019 travel date and no later than 31 March 2020.
4.4. The provision of air tickets from Singapore Airlines is subject to the following conditions:
(a) the issuance of tickets is subject to seat availability;
(b) excess baggage waiver will not be granted;
(c) Economy Class tickets are not upgradable to Business Class unless the winner wishes to do so at their own expense;
(d) the tickets will only be issued if all sectors are confirmed;
(e) once the airline tickets are issued to the Winner and Companions, requests for changes of passengers’ names and travelling sectors made 35 days or less before the date of travel will be subjected to Singapore Airlines approval and upon approval, a charge of NZD75.00 per change will be levied;
(f) no portion of travel not utilised may be carried forward beyond the validity dates contained on the ticket without the specific, written approval of Singapore Airlines. Notwithstanding any validity date on the ticket, all travel on tickets issued must be utilised in full by 6 months of first departure date; and
(g) travel will only be available on Singapore Airlines’ operated services.
4.5. As part of the utilisation of travel, the Winner and Companions undertake to:
(a) have valid documentation, including but not limited to valid passports and visas, which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities at every destination;
(b) take responsibility to pay any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities (including any costs associated with delay;
(c) be neatly and appropriately attired when travelling;
(d) not carry, on their person, in their luggage or carry-on baggage, any contraband or goods which are prohibited by the laws of Singapore or the country of their final destination, or goods which are unsuitable for carriage on a commercial aircraft;
(e) observe all directions of Singapore Airlines ground staff and air crew at all times;
(f) comply with the requirements of immigration and customs authorities in each country; and
(g) comply with the laws of the jurisdiction they are visiting.
4.6. Frequent Flyer mileage cannot be accrued on any of the free or concession travel undertaken for this Prize.
4.7. Charges for excess baggage shall apply where a passenger seeks to carry more than their entitlement of luggage. In such cases, Singapore Airlines is not liable for the charges.
4.8. Tickets will be valid for the period specified on the ticket. Unused travel at the expiry of the validity period cannot be refunded or re-utilised. Once a journey commences (i.e. the point at which the first flight coupon is redeemed for travel), the utilisation of the commitment for free tickets is deemed to have been made against the provision stated above.
4.9. Tickets are not transferable and must be issued only in the correct name of the person travelling.
4.10. The Prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash. The Prize must be taken as stated in these terms and conditions and no compensation will be payable if the Winner is unable to use the Prize as stated. For the avoidance of doubt, if the Winner is, for whatever reason, unable to travel on a nominated date during this period, whether the failure was due to reasons beyond the Winner's control or otherwise, then the Winner will forfeit the Prize.
5. WINNING THE PRIZE
5.1. The Winner must be available for the preparation of all publicity that may be required by Christchurch Art Gallery.
5.2. The Winner accepts the Prize entirely at his/her own risk and indemnifies Christchurch Art Gallery, Singapore Airlines and Fairfax in respect of any claim for any accident, injury, property damage or loss of life that may occur in connection with the Prize.
5.3. The Promoters makes no representation as to safety, conditions and other issues that may exist at any destination. International travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including government, local consular offices and the web site of the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
5.4. All travel is subject to the terms, conditions and restrictions of the Prize service providers.
5.5. The Winner and each Companion must sign a legal release, in a form acceptable to the Promoters in its absolute discretion, if requested by the Promoters.
6.1. By participating, entrants grant Christchurch Art Gallery and Singapore Airlines exclusive permission to use their names, characters, photographs, videos, voices and likeness in connection with the Promotion and for future promotion and marketing purposes and waive any claims to royalty, right or remuneration for such use.
6.3. Personal information provided at the time of entry is presumed to be true and, in the case of text or email notification – active, through to and beyond the date of the Promotion’s completion.
7.1. The Promoters reserves the right to amend, vary, extend or discontinue a Promotion at any stage, for any reason.
7.2. The Promoters takes no responsibility for any inability to enter, complete, continue or conclude the Promotion due to equipment or technical malfunction, busy lines, misspelt email address, Acts of God or otherwise.
7.3 To the fullest extent permitted by law, Christchurch Art Gallery and Singapore Airlines will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for personal injury as a result of Promotion entry or winning the Prize.
