Spheres: An Online Video Project

Over the past few weeks, I have been working with fellow curator Nathan Pohio on an online video project that we’ve called Spheres. I’ve only recently joined the Gallery, so it’s been helpful to have something to focus on from home as well as a reason to be in touch with some interesting artists.

Exhibition

Dane Mitchell: Post Hoc

Dane Mitchell’s Post hoc conjures the ghosts of our past, calling up millions of lost, extinct and obsolete things.

Exhibition

Te Wheke: Pathways Across Oceania

Experience the Gallery’s collection from the perspective of our place in Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa, the Pacific Ocean.

Exhibition

Māori Moving Image: An Open Archive

This dynamic exhibition explores the history of Māori artists who have used animation, film and video as a medium.

Since I moved to Christchurch quite recently, I don’t have a particular old friend in the collection that I miss spending time with. However, I do have fond memories of my first visit to Christchurch as a University of Otago student during the summer holidays.
