This Collection of contemporary New Zealand painting consisted of 53 paintings, drawings and prints by some of New Zealand's most important influences in the previous 10 years. Works by Rita Angus, Toss Woollaston, Colin McCahon, Ralph Hotere, Philip Trusttum, Pat Hanly, Milan Mrkusich, Michael Illingworth, Brent Wong and others were included.

The Collection which was on extended loan to the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, not only offered a good insight into New Zealand painting but also illustrated what can be acquired by a devoted collector.
