Wellington-based sound artist Jesse Austin-Stewart will present his installation Five Moving Speakers, a kinetic speaker system that uses linear motion to explore space.
This remarkable sound-generation creation and its position in the history of mechanical music-making systems will provide the springboard for a wider panel discussion by three composers who are currently visiting Ōtautahi. These creators who make music in strikingly different ways have come together for the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM) World New Music Days that are taking place in Aotearoa for the first time in the organization’s 100-year history.
