About the artist
This is one of a series of preparatory drawings for William Sutton’s painting ‘Homage to Frances Hodgkins’. The painting, now destroyed,was a group portrait of the leading supporters of the controversial purchase of Hodgkins’s The Pleasure Garden.
'Homage to Frances Hodgkins' was reproduced in issue 15 of Bulletin.
