This print is an ornament on page 50 of 'The Fables of John Dryden, Ornamented with Engravings from the Pencil of the Right Hon. Lady Diana Beauclerc, published by T. Bensley, for J. Edwards, in London in 1797.
The image accompanies the tale of Palomon and Arcite, a story derived from Chaucer's 'Canterbury Tales', derived in turn from Boccaccio's 'Decameron'.
