Ronnie van Hout relishes the first-person plural. Versions of the artist – some credible, some more unhinged – show up regularly throughout his practice. Almost-Ronnies revisit his childhood, filter his experiences of the art world and act out darkly funny imaginings. The fun-sized effigies here are the smaller, more mobile offspring of Quasi, the giant, disembodied face-in-a-hand that loomed from the rooftop of this building in 2016. Whereas the original had a mournful malevolence, these more rambunctious homunculi seem cloned in the service of mischief and mayhem.
