This print derives from a botanical drawing by Basilius Besler (1561-1629) which first appeared in print as an engraving in his monumental book 'Hortus Eystettensis' published in 1613. The common English name of the plant depicted is pink pussytoes and it appears as plate 65 in part 1 (Spring) of Besler's book.
