Library

Behind the scenes

Never mind the cathedral, this has to be one of the saddest sights in town.

A sheet of plywood stops you getting in, and wire fences stop you getting close. Assorted litter and two years worth of autumn leaves block the doorway. The tiles haven't been cleaned and the footpath is buckled.

Of course our good friends at Christchurch City Libraries have done a sterling job keeping the library service going, so although I can hear them in the distance, the Visigoths are perhaps not at the gates quite yet.

And if you turn 180 degrees, this is the view down Chancery Arcade.
