Cat Simpson graduated from the University of Canterbury School of Fine Arts in 2001 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in sculpture. In the same year she was awarded both the Rosemary Johnson Muller Memorial Scholarship and the Friends of the Robert McDougall Art Gallery Scholarship. She has exhibited in group and solo exhibitions since 1999, most recently in Christchurch with the seventh cup at High Street Project in 2005 and firewater at the Centre of Contemporary Art earlier this year.
