One of the greatest pattern designers
of all time, William Morris – the man behind the firm Morris & Co. – led the arts and crafts movement of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. He remains a remarkable figure more than a century after his death.
"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful."
William Morris, 1882
