Sculpture in the Gardens is a biennial event hosted by the Robert McDougall Art Gallery in association with the Christchurch Botanic Gardens.

Sculpture in the Gardens is a biennial event hosted by the Robert McDougall Art Gallery in association with the Christchurch Botanic Gardens.

First held in 1993, this event is designed to raise the profile of the best of New Zealand's contemporary sculpture.

Previous participants have included Neil Dawson, Jeff Thomson, Pauline Rhodes and Chris Booth.

The three artists taking part this year, Christchurch sculptors Bing Dawe and Enid Eiriksson and Waiheke Island artist Kazu Nakagawa, will each create a temporary work in a location of their choice in the Botanic Gardens, with the theme of 'Transition and Change.'

A free colour catalogue featuring images of the works, sculpture locations and an essay by the curator of the exhibition will be available from participating locations in Christchurch.

This exhibition was held at the Robert McDougall Art Gallery in the Botanic Gardens.
