Friends update
Due to the continued Civil Defence presence at the Gallery, the Executive Committee of the Friends still does not have access to our office or telephone – which makes maintaining contact with our members very difficult.
I'd like to ask you to please bear with us as we attempt to get our permanent base re-established and get back into the Gallery. Although we had hoped to be able to hold our AGM at the end of July in the Gallery, it has now become clear that this is not going to be possible and we are seeking an alternative venue. We intend to confirm both the date and venue within the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out for a mailout very soon.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the AGM.

This membership is at the high end of expenses as Friends of organisations go and for some of us it will be unacceptable if it is just swallowed up as a donation with another year to pay shortly.

Heather, this was discussed at Committee level. However, we still have expenses coming in and our only income is our subscriptions. We have not actively sought these since the realisation that the Art Gallery will not be available for the rest of the year and we are greatful to our members who still willingly commit to the Friends through their paid subscriptions. Our organisation has always been one that supports the Gallery and activities for Friends has always been an enjoyable extra, put together by a very small, volunteer committee.We have managed to put together a limited programme for 2011, beginning in August and a Bulletin will come out in September I hope you enjoy these.
