Exciting new format for Bulletin

The Bulletin iPad magazine is now available for free download.

We've been working with our design partners, Strategy Design & Advertising, to translate the magazine into this new format, which we initially plan to offer as a free download. While we still firmly believe that print is the best place to reproduce artworks, the iPad provides lots of exciting new opportunities for richer content that we're keen to explore.

We reckon Bulletin is already one of the best art gallery magazines you will come across internationally, and it has been something of a regular in design and publishing awards. The iPad application gives us the chance to offer more content, including video and sound works, and we're allowing people to subscribe to it for free.

Download it now from the iTunes store and it'll be available in your newsstand every quarter. Do it!

No Android version?

Hi Sav, Not at present I'm afraid - we just don't see enough traffic to the site from android users. But it is something we're watching, and if we start to see more users we'll reassess it.

What a disappointing response to Sav's query. If you offered an Android version then you would probably get more traffic to the site from us non-Apple people. Don't you realise that Samsung is providing tough competition for Apple?

The step into digital publishing is a major step, and one which we're very excited about. But it is an area that is still developing rapidly, so at present we're offering Bulletin as a digital magazine on a trial basis, and we will be monitoring uptake to decide if continues beyond the four issues we have committed to. Using the tools available to us, we have analysed our visitor base and created a product to serve the demographic we see represented. We are of course always keen to expand audience, and to make our content available on as many platforms and through as many channels as possible. But we can't do it all at once. However, I assure you that requests to make Bulletin available to Android users are being noted, and we are watching our visitor figures.
