Picking another print from our collection, the next stop was Richmond, to see Grey Friars Tower. This forms the centrepiece of Richmond's Friary Gardens

And yet again, although the town has changed and the passing traffic zooms to and from the huge army depot at nearby Catterick, the tower sits as serenly in its gardens as it did in John Pye's mid-Victorian engraving.
