We enjoy the odd bottle of craft beer here at the Christchurch Art Gallery, especially when the labels have been created by our own staff.
Among our favourite drops currently are Emerson's Bird Dog and many of the various beers from the Cassels range. The Emerson's Bird Dog is an India Pale Ale that features a painting on the label by our in-house photographer John Collie - the same painting that was originally used for the Verlaines album Bird Dog in 1987. The Cassels labels have all been designed and created as linocuts by our exhibitions technician, Scott Jackson. Scott has kept himself busy creating a range of distinctive black and white labels for Cassels over the past two years or so. Well worth sampling if you get the chance.
