Pre-event

Lynn and the team were very easy to deal with – we found them flexible and can-do, they guided us on what made an event at the Art Gallery successful and provided helpful information as to what had worked well in the past
They also worked seamlessly with our other providers – White Tie, Brown Bread and Strawberry Sound – meaning we had a strong event delivery team across the board
 

The event

Staff – on the night of the event Lynn and her wider team went out of their way to assist both the Te Hono support team and our guests in making the event run smoothly and answered any questions efficiently and dealt with any issues that arose with professionalism and ease.
Ken Hall, Curator – did a fantastic job at introducing the Art Gallery and exhibition. He entertained the crowd and tailored his presentation appropriately for the audience.
Tables and decoration – the space within the Gallery is fantastic for an event of this size and looked spectacular when fitted out. The advice provided by Lynn in regards to table formation, flow of the guests, set out and lighting was invaluable.
Food/catering – there was great facilities for our caterers White Tie to utilise within the Art Gallery and the preparation and delivery of the food appeared seamless on the night.
Guest feedback – the Te Hono team received a lot of positive feedback from our guests about the Art Gallery venue, many of whom were from ‘out of town’ and pleasantly surprised to see such a high calibre venue within post-earthquake in Christchurch. We enjoyed showcasing our city and its facilities and would recommend the Art Gallery as a venue for any large event in the future.

Canterbury Film Society is hugely indebted to the wonderful Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu which has offered our members a spectacular and central venue for our regular Monday night screenings.  

The auditorium is perfectly equipped for our screenings and presentations, while the foyer is an extraordinary bright, warm, and contemporary space to share pre-film drinks and conversation.

We have always found the team at Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu to be extremely professional, friendly and helpful. Whether it is working out how to safely continue screenings under covid 19 restrictions or taking delivery of a piano for a "silent" movie screening.
Our membership has grown exponentially over the years we have worked with the venue - and many have joined after picking up our brochure at the gallery's information desk. 

Just a quick note to say thank you so much for all your assistance on Tuesday, it really was appreciated. Can you also pass on our thanks to the two gallery hosts Carina and Janine, they were very helpful and ensured our night ran smoothly.

Our guests loved the whole event and the space worked really well for the music.

I’m sure we’ll be back!

It was a pleasure and a privilege to be able to share the At Galley foyer for our Christmas event. You made the process so simple Lynn, and did an amazing job with the finished effects.

Thank you and your wonderful staff for our NZATE Conference dinner on July 14, Thursday.

The venue is amazing and the lovely ladies that helped us made it truly magical. Nothing was too much trouble – even rustling up calligraphy when I left the table placings at home!

Everything went smoothly and with such professional staff. Everyone raved about how brilliant the dinner was.

I wanted to write to say what a lovely evening we had at the Christchurch Art Gallery. A lot has to do with the amount of time you gave us as we planned the event, so a very BIG thank you for your involvement.

It has been an absolute pleasure working with you and I’m hoping that hosting the group will result in more business events to the city and Art Gallery. Such a wonderful space!
